School Visits

Hosting a local author at your school, group, or library is a great way to get kids excited about reading and writing.

As a college writing professor and dog trainer, Kathleen loves to talk to people of all ages about writing and dogs!

She’s happy to do both large-group talks (with plenty of interaction) and smaller events for grades 3-12. Let us know your needs – she’s able to do or adapt any of the following topics:

  • Stories of Dylan, the loveable cocker spaniel, and Service Dog Training (includes ASL)

  • A reading from her books, followed by a Q&A

  • Dog Ownership Responsibility

  • Creative Writing Process and Becoming an Author

  • Crafting teen suspense novels

Kathleen enjoys in-person visits so that she can interact with students.

“I love their energy!”
